With more than 13 years of experience in accounting and administration, Maureen brings extensive financial expertise and organizational insight to the Club. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing her CPA designation to further advance her professional credentials.

Maureen has been affiliated with the Club for 16 years, contributing in a variety of capacities including working for Urban Prairie Cuisine, and working in both the Junior Lounge and at the front desk. In 2024, she returned to the Club as Accounting Manager, where her long-standing familiarity with the organization and commitment to excellence continue to support its financial integrity and operational success.

With a Business Administration Diploma and a passion for working with children, Jessica combines her planning skills with a personal touch, supporting every family’s experience at the Club. Jessica is a longstanding member of the Winnipeg Winter Club team and dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where children can learn, play, and build lasting connections. A Skate Canada member and longtime Skate Canada volunteer, Jessica is also Respect in Sport Certified and a Babysitting Certification Course Facilitator.

Sydney has over a decade of experience in the aquatics industry, with a strong foundation in competitive swimming, instruction, and water safety leadership. She is a Certified Lifeguard and supports the delivery of high-quality aquatics programming and training standards. Sydney is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused aquatic environment at the Club.

Riley Dudar

Head Professional, Hockey

Riley is a certified Hockey Canada skills coach, High Performance 1 coach, and a certified mental game coaching professional. He manages Evolution Hockey’s research and coach development, educating players and coaches on the progressive nuances of the game. Riley also consults with many of Manitoba’s elite amateur and professional players, working on their individual games through video and private sessions.

In addition, Riley is a scout for the USHL’s Chicago Steel, and the Director of Player Development for the Western Canadian Hockey Academy and the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Robyn Ward

Robyn Ward

Robyn is a Regional Skate Canada Coach with certification as an NCCP CanSkate Instructor and trained Regional Coach. As a competitive figure skater, she represented Team Manitoba from 2012 to 2022. Robyn’s experience extends to performance-based skating, earning recognition as the Sun Valley Open Live Choice Award Winner in 2022. With additional training in dance disciplines such as ballet, she brings artistry and athleticism together in her coaching.

Debbie Synkiw

Debbie Synkiw

Debbie brings 40 years of coaching experience, including 27 years at the Winnipeg Winter Club. Originally from a figure skating background, she now specializes in power skating, where her patient and encouraging style has helped skaters of all ages and levels succeed. Debbie emphasizes strong fundamentals and advances her students through proper body mechanics, edge control, and muscle memory. In addition to her extensive coaching experience, she also holds a Bachelor of Education degree.

Roni Swischuk

Roni Swischuk

Roni is a Skate Canada National Coach with extensive experience working with skaters of all levels. She holds NCCP Level 3 certification in singles, as well as Level 3 technical training in pairs and synchronized skating. Her well-rounded background allows her to coach both figure skating and power skating, providing athletes with the technical foundation and performance skills needed to thrive on the ice.

Tenneile Sigfusson

Tenneile Sigfusson

With more than 15 years of coaching experience, Tenneile is passionate about helping skaters develop their skills and elevate their performance, whether in power skating or recreational figure skating. A former senior competitive figure skater, Tenneile competed at the Skate Canada Challenge and earned a silver medal at the Arctic Winter Games. She trained at the prestigious Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton and is NCCP Provincial Coach Trained. Today, she brings her expertise and enthusiasm to the ice, focusing on building both skill and confidence in every student while fostering a lifelong love of skating.

Danae Russell

Danae Russell

Danae began skating at the age of two and went on to compete for 16 years, achieving her Gold level tests in freeskate, skills, and dance. A six-time Provincial Champion, she qualified for the Skate Canada Challenge seven consecutive years. Since 2017, Danae has been coaching skaters of all ages and abilities, sharing her passion for the sport while specializing in jumps, spins, and choreography. She is part of a unique family coaching team alongside her mother and sister, offering a supportive and dynamic environment for skaters. Outside the rink, Danae recently completed her Bachelor of Nursing through RRC Polytech and is pursuing a career in pediatric nursing. She continues to skate recreationally and is committed to inspiring a lifelong love of skating in her students.

Sarah Low-Ying

With over 25 years of coaching experience, Sarah has worked with skaters of all levels in both figure skating and power skating. She holds NCCP Level 2 certification (Provincial Coach), NCCP Level 3 Theory and Technical Singles (National Coach Trained), and is Power Skate and Special Olympics Trained. Sarah is also a Respect in Sport Certified coach, a Star 1–5 Assessor, and a Quadruple Gold Test skater. As a former Junior Competitive skater at the Divisional level, she brings both technical expertise and a deep passion for the sport to her athletes.

Cali is a figure skating and Learn to Skate coach with 15 years of competitive experience. She represented Team Manitoba from 2018 to 2024, competed at Skate Canada Challenge, and earned a gold medal at the Manitoba Games. As an NCCP Certified Coach and Skate Canada Regional and CanSkate Coach in Training, Cali is eager to pass along the knowledge and passion that shaped her own journey. Now pursuing a degree in engineering at the University of Manitoba, she is committed to helping the next generation of skaters develop their skills and love for the sport.

Gabriela, B.A.H, is a compassionate yoga instructor with over 25 years of practice and a background as an Artistic Faculty member at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. She is certified with a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and is pursuing advanced training in Somatic Healing and Trauma-Informed Yoga. Gabriela teaches Restorative, Flow, Chair, and Yogalates classes, blending mindfulness, strength, and flexibility.

Ian started his Yoga practice 2010 and became a teacher in 2014. His internationally recognized yoga teacher certification includes the method and practices of Ashtanga yoga. Ian has a daily practice of Mysore style Asthanga yoga and meditation. As a teacher every student is treated as an individual, working patiently, compassionately, and respectfully with each student and their needs.

Chris Mikolajek is an experienced Certified Athletic Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a background that includes working multiple seasons with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers. A hands-on, exercise-driven practitioner, Chris combines advanced manual therapy skills with tailored rehabilitation and performance programs to help clients recover, strengthen, and excel.

Meagan is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT) and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CPT), with 25 years of experience helping clients.  She takes a multi-disciplinary approach to fitness, incorporating her education in kinesiology, remedial massage therapy, osteopathy, and certifications as a mobility specialist, sport strength coach, yoga instructor and nutrition coach. She’s known for her attention to detail, teaching good lifting technique and intentionally designing programs that help her clients become the most fit version of themselves.

A former Provincial Coach and Technical Director for Tennis Manitoba, he has guided numerous junior athletes to national success and college scholarships. Peter holds a Canadian Tennis Professional Association certification and has achieved three consecutive National Senior Doubles titles.

Her professional training as a coach and player took place at one of Eastern Europe’s premier sports schools in Kyiv, Ukraine.

She competed in numerous tournaments throughout Europe and Ukraine. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, Olga is capable of coaching students of all levels, ages, and abilities.

Under Olga’s guidance, her students have achieved remarkable success at national, European, and international levels. With her dedication and coaching prowess, Olga continues to shape aspiring athletes into champions.

He has helped coach the Manitoba provincial team and has taken teams to national championships.

Robert’s meticulous attention to detail extends to his personal style. Known for his obsession with matching outfits.

Jacob is an Otto Academy alumni and Tennis Canada certified instructor with several years of experience coaching players of all ages and abilities.

Jacob has had a successful junior career, earning the number 1 ranking in Manitoba in the U14, U16, and U18 age categories. He has competed in numerous national and international tournaments and represented Manitoba at 2 Canada Summer Games.

Jacob is passionate about player development and works hard to bring out the best in all the players he works with. He is a strong role model and mentor for the high-performance juniors at the club and often organizes and runs special events to educate and enhance the junior program at the Winnipeg Winter Club.

Anna joined the coaching team at the Otto Tennis Academy in 2024.

Her professional training and coaching career began at one of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s leading tennis clubs. As a player, Anna competed in numerous tournaments throughout Ukraine and Europe, gaining valuable competitive experience that she now brings to her coaching.

Alongside her on-court expertise, Anna has extensive administrative experience. She previously served as the Head of a Specialized Youth Sports School for Tennis, where she successfully led programs focused on athlete development and youth sports management. This experience provided her with a deep understanding of player growth, both on and off the court.

With nearly 20 years of coaching experience, Anna is dedicated to helping players of all ages and skill levels achieve their goals. Her professionalism, passion, and commitment to excellence make her a valued member of the Otto Tennis Academy coaching staff.

With over 25 years of coaching experience, Elliott is a respected leader in Canadian sport, known for his dedication to athlete development and inclusion. He holds NCCP Competition Development certification.

Elliott served as the Nova Scotia coach at the 2007 Canada Games and is currently a valued member of the Canadian Professional Coaches Association, the Inclusion in Canadian Sports Network, and a member of the Badminton Canada High Performance Committee. He is also the Assistant Coach for Canada’s National Para Team, Provincial coach for Team Manitoba, 2023 Pan American Para Games and Four Pan American Junior Championships.

As an athlete, Elliott has achieved remarkable success, winning multiple Nova Scotia provincial and Maritime titles as both a junior and senior player. His excellence on the court continues at the Masters level, where he is a six-time Canadian Masters Champion.

Kevin Tsang is an experienced badminton coach with more than five years of coaching behind him. He began playing at age 13 at the Winnipeg Winter Club, where he quickly rose through Manitoba’s junior ranks. During his junior career, Kevin captured provincial doubles titles and represented Manitoba at multiple junior national championships.

Now transitioning his competitive background into coaching, Kevin is dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential. He focuses on building solid fundamentals, smart tactics, and a genuine love for the game, creating an environment where players can grow, compete, and enjoy the sport.

With over seven years of coaching experience, Udhav has been training athletes of all levels at the Winnipeg Winter Club since 2018. His coaching approach reflects both his competitive background and his genuine love for the sport he is truly passionate about badminton as both a coach and a player.

A firm believer that sport builds character beyond the court, Udhav strives to help his athletes grow not only in their technical and tactical skills but also in confidence, resilience, and life skills that carry far beyond the game.

Kevin Barkman is a high-performance athlete and coach with a strong commitment to excellence. His training experiences across Asia and Europe, along with playing league in Denmark and competing on the BWF circuit, have given him a deep understanding of what true high-performance sport requires. These experiences shaped his belief in training with intent and purpose, both on and off the court.

With four international medals, a former #1 ranking in Canada, and competition experience around the world, Kevin understands the level of discipline, effort, and resilience needed to reach the top. He also recognizes the importance of strong foundational skills and movement abilities as the base for long-term development.

Although his international background stems from the sport’s highest levels, Kevin continues to approach badminton with an emphasis on the fundamentals helping athletes build the skills and habits needed to grow, compete, and excel.

Dominic Guzman has coached several athletes ranging from ages 6 to 60, helping beginners fall in love with badminton and guiding advanced players to smash new personal bests. With five years of provincial and national competition experience—including provincial titles and a Manitoba Games medal—he brings both skill and insight to every session.

Dominic has trained and learned from coaches across Canada and even in the Philippines, shaping a coaching style that blends high-energy drills, technical analysis, and plenty of fun. Whether you’re looking to improve your fundamentals or sharpen your competitive edge, Dominic is committed to getting you match-ready!

Trevor has coached the Manitoba Junior Provincial Team since 1997 and led Canada Winter Games teams since 2003. His athletes include numerous national champions, Canadian and US Junior Open winners, and a Pan Am Games champion. Trevor has also represented Canada as a coach at the Commonwealth Games, Junior Worlds, and Junior Pan Ams. Trevor has been a top 3 MB player since 1996 and multiple time Canadian age group champion.

Chef Dan, a Certified Red Seal Chef, brings exceptional culinary expertise gained through his experience at the Manitoba Club and the Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club. Together, Dan and Danielle have worked in the fine dining industry for over 15 years and deliver high-quality food and beverage service at the Club daily, while also catering to offsite occasions with the same commitment to excellence and service. Dan and Danielle are owners of Urban Prairie Cuisine since 2019.
