Tennis

Our tennis program offers three indoor courts and expert coaching from our professional team, led by Peter Otto. As a certified member of the Canadian Tennis Professionals Association and a three-time National Senior Doubles Champion, Peter brings a wealth of experience to every lesson and program.

The Club offers a variety of tennis clinics, leagues, and private or group lessons for all ages and skill levels.

Our Junior Programming is designed to ensure every player develops the skills required to progress to the next level. Using a team-based approach, our training includes a balance of play between stronger and developing athletes to foster growth, motivation, and confidence.

The Otto Academy offers a high-performance pathway for developing athletes ages 9 and up, including provincial and national training groups. Entry into this program is by invitation only.

Peter has led the Club’s tennis program since 2005 after serving as Assistant Pro for two years. A former Provincial Coach and Technical Director for Tennis Manitoba, he has guided numerous junior athletes to national success and college scholarships. Peter holds a Canadian Tennis Professional Association certification and has achieved three consecutive National Senior Doubles titles.

Olga has been an Assistant Coach at the Winnipeg Winter Club since October 2009.

Her professional training as a coach and player took place at one of Eastern Europe’s premier sports schools in Kyiv, Ukraine.

She competed in numerous tournaments throughout Europe and Ukraine. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, Olga is capable of coaching students of all levels, ages, and abilities.

Under Olga’s guidance, her students have achieved remarkable success at national, European, and international levels. With her dedication and coaching prowess, Olga continues to shape aspiring athletes into champions.

Robert has coached tennis for over 40 years and has been coaching at the Winnipeg Winter club since 2005.

Robert possesses an exceptional skill in communicating with children, and his adeptness extends to effectively guiding them toward achieving their desired outcomes.

He has helped coach the Manitoba provincial team and has taken teams to national championships.

Robert’s meticulous attention to detail extends to his personal style. Known for his obsession with matching outfits.

Jacob is an Otto Academy alumni and Tennis Canada certified instructor with several years of experience coaching players of all ages and abilities.

Jacob has had a successful junior career, earning the number 1 ranking in Manitoba in the U14, U16, and U18 age categories. He has competed in numerous national and international tournaments and represented Manitoba at 2 Canada Summer Games.

Jacob is passionate about player development and works hard to bring out the best in all the players he works with. He is a strong role model and mentor for the high-performance juniors at the club and often organizes and runs special events to educate and enhance the junior program at the Winnipeg Winter Club.

Anna joined the coaching team at the Otto Tennis Academy in 2024.

Her professional training and coaching career began at one of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s leading tennis clubs. As a player, Anna competed in numerous tournaments throughout Ukraine and Europe, gaining valuable competitive experience that she now brings to her coaching.

Alongside her on-court expertise, Anna has extensive administrative experience. She previously served as the Head of a Specialized Youth Sports School for Tennis, where she successfully led programs focused on athlete development and youth sports management. This experience provided her with a deep understanding of player growth, both on and off the court.

With nearly 20 years of coaching experience, Anna is dedicated to helping players of all ages and skill levels achieve their goals. Her professionalism, passion, and commitment to excellence make her a valued member of the Otto Tennis Academy coaching staff.
