The 8th annual Winnipeg Winter Club Women's Professional Squash Tournament is coming up on February 1st-5th, 2017. Several of the top players from around the world will be coming to Winnipeg to fight for the title.

This year our top seed is Sarah Cardwell from Australia, with one of the many you talented Egyptian players, Nada Abbas as the tournaments second seed. The tournament will also feature three of the four top Canadian female players as well as the top players from Manitoba including Alix Younger, Anika Alexander and Hannah Blatt, who has been given the main round wild card this year. Action is free all week and begins on Wednesday February 1st at 5:30 pm. It continues at the same time on Thursday and Friday with semi finals at 1:30 pm on Saturday and the finals on Sunday February 5th at 1:00 pm.

Volunteers drivers would be much appreciated, this would mostly be to pick up players from their billets house and drive them to or from the WWC. The MB Closed Squash Championships will be running alongside the Pro Women's event, form January 30th- February 5th. There are events for players of all levels from beginner to the top players in the province. We have events for men, women, juniors, seniors as well as doubles, so don't miss your chance to take home a provincial title. All players must enter at http://www.squashmb.org . Entry deadline is Thursday January 26th!

NEW BEGINNER SQUASH GROUP

We are offering a new group this Winter session for those kids 8-13 years old who may not have taken our Munchkin class when they were younger. Our new Beginner Squash Group would be an ideal place to start. The group will take place on Saturdays from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. Kids will learn all the basics they need to get started playing and having fun with Squash. Racquets and glasses will be provided for the first few classes for anyone who needs.
