WHAT IS THE “FEBRUARY FITNESS CHALLENGE”?

For our newer members, this is a fun event the Fitness Department has put on every year dating back decades. The nature of the February Fitness Challenge is to foster a fun opportunity for members to get engaged and take on a series of fitness challenges for all levels.

FEBRUARY FITNESS CHALLENGE 2018 – INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES

The individual challenges are posted in the Gym by the grey “Slam Wall” and can be done by any member at any time. They are all designed for you to try to do your very best either against yourself, while attempting to beat your personal best or against other members here at the WWC.

WHAT ARE THE INDIVIDUAL MUSCULAR STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE CHALLENGES?

The body weight challenges range from push-ups, to chin-ups, to planks, to wall sits for fun challenges that can be done at any time. All you need to do is take on whichever challenges you choose and write in your totals on the charts and leader boards provided once you have completed each challenge.

INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES – CARDI-OH MY!

These challenges include a wide variety of options on a wide variety of amazing pieces of cardio equipment we have here at the WWC including, biking, rowing, running, skipping, stair climbing and two of our most grueling and yet member favourites, the VMX – Rope Climb and the Jacobs Ladder – Mount Everest Challenge.

NEW SHELVING UNIT IN THE FITNESS AREA

We have recently added a new shelving unit for outdoor shoes and bag storage to your immediate right when you first walk in the glass gym entry door. We kindly ask that you do not wear outdoor footwear in the Gym area to maintain a safe and clean area for all members to enjoy. We also ask that all bags and racquets be left on the new shelving unit to prevent the crowding of shared fitness space.
