About Our Staff
Peter Otto
Peter is in his fourth year as
Head Pro at The Winnipeg Winter Club. He has over 31 years of playing
experience and 21 plus years as tennis professional and Coach. He has
taught at numerous tennis clubs in Winnipeg, but for the past 10 seasons he has
been the Head Pro/Manager at Kildonan Tennis Club. Peter is also
Provincial Coach and Tennis Manitoba's Technical Director. He is a member
of the Canadian Tennis Professional association and is currently completing his
Level III Canadian Tennis Coaching Certification.
Peter has coached a number of juniors who have gone on to compete
at Junior Canadian Nationals and has served as traveling coach to many of those
nationals. He has also served as head Coach or Assistant Coach for 7
Western and Canada Summer Games Teams. Below are some coaching highlights.

Coach
As a player, Peter continues to be among the top doubles players in the province
and is ranked nationally in the 40+ doubles.
In his Junior career, he had won dozens of provincial tournaments, competed in 3
Nationals and played on 3 Canadian and Western Games teams earning 4th place
finish in the 1985 Canada Games and winning Silver at the 1987 Western Games.

Sean Grassie
Sean brings to the Winnipeg Winter Club a wealth of
tennis knowledge and experience. He has been the Head Pro/Manager of the
Deer Lodge Tennis Club for the past 12 summers, where he has coached players of
all levels. Sean also organized club activities and ran provincial
tournaments. As a competitor, Sean is among the top singles and doubles
players in the province.
Sean is also a very competitive curler. He won the 1999
Manitoba Junior Championship, was a finalist in the 2002 Canadian University
Championships and won the Canadian Mixed Championship in Iqaliut, Nunavut.
In 2008 Sean
completed his Masters degree in Philosophy at the University of
Manitoba. He is currently enrolled in the creative communications program
at Red River College.
Steven Piotrowski
Steven has been the Assistant Tennis Professional at Kildonan
Tennis Club for the past 3 years and in his second year at the Winnipeg Winter Club.
He will be completing the first level of Tennis Canada's coaching certification
program. Steven has enjoyed playing tennis for 16 years with a number of
years of private coaching by Peter Otto. He has also competed in numerous
tournaments as an open level player.
Steven obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Manitoba in 2005 and is currently applying to the Faculty of
Medicine. In addition to tennis, Steven has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do,
and he has played on the Canada Games and the Junior Bisons volleyball teams.
Rob Langan
Rob Langan returns this year as an Assistant Pro.
Rob is a Tennis Canada Certified Instructor and has been the Head Pro at the
Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club for the past 3 years, he brings over 6 years of
teaching all ages and abilities.
As well as teaching Tennis, Rob is currently at the University of
Manitoba with an ultimate goal of completing a degree in Education.
Sean LaCap
Sean LaCap has just completed his first summer
as Head Pro at the Sargent Park Tennis Club This will be his fourth year teaching tennis at
the Winnipeg Winter Club. He has been Team Prairies coach at the U14
Canadian Nationals and Assistant Pro of Team Manitoba for the 2007 Western
Canada Games. He has twice competed on Team Canada touring the Florida
international junior tour. He has won one Canadian Junior Nationals title.
