About Our Staff

Jeff Mitchell - Fitness Director

Jeff graduated from the faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management in 2007 as Kinesiology Graduate of the Year. Jeff has many years of personal training and health & fitness consultation experience, most recently spending a year working in Toronto, Ontario. Jeff has served as President on numerous volunteer organizations throughout the Province of Manitoba and brings with him a breadth of experience. Jeff currently holds certifications with two of the top organizations in North America, the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Jeff has always been a committed athlete competing in a wide variety of sports from Hockey to Volleyball and everything in between, with his main love being for racquet sports. Jeff brings a friendly, positive attitude with him and is driven by a passion to help people live healthy & happy lives. Stop by the fitness centre anytime with any questions or concerns, we are always happy to help. 

Jackie Dobie - Personal Trainer
Jackie Dobie came to the Winnipeg Winter Cub in 2004 with 25 years of certified experience in aerobic dance, core training, circuit and personal training. Prior to her work at the Winter Club, Jacki owned and worked within a Fitness Facility under the name "Bodyworks the Health Experts" for nine years where she attended numerous workshops pertaining to improving and achieving higher levels of fitness criteria.
Since entering the field of fitness she has had the opportunity of training persons ages 14-80 years of various levels and physical challenges. In addition to one-on-one personal training, Jackie also teaches our popular wight training circuit classes.
Jackie would like to extend a personal "thank-you" to all her participants who have worked out under her guidance and continue to do so at the Winnipeg Winter Club.

Meagan Wilson - Personal Trainer
Megan lives by the philosophy that fitness should be part of a balanced and active lifestyle, not a short-term solution. She has 14 years of experience in the industry and brings an extensive background of knowledge. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, a Sport Movement and Sport Strength Level 1 Specialist, Massage Therapist and Ashtanga Yoga Instructor. Megan continues to develop herself professionally by regularly attending conferences and advanced seminars in coaching and is currently studying Kinesiology and Applied health at the University of Winnipeg. She also travel worldwide to learn yoga from respected teachers to deepen her personal yoga practice and loves to share this wisdom through teaching.
Meagan has a wide range of clients from the general population to elite athletes. She has performance training experience with aspiring athletes to professional athletes including, handball, soccer, volleyball and NHL hockey players, as well as figure skaters, endurance athletes, fitness competitors and martial arts fighters.
Her athletic background includes competing as a fitness competitor at the Canadian Nationals in 2002, the World Qualifier in 2001 and 2002 and winning overall at he Provincials in 2004. Megan's current athletic pursuits are endurance training, sport strength training, ashtanga yoga and figure skating.
Through her energy and desire to truly educate, Meagan provides her clients with performance based programs using scientific principles that enable clients to train with a purpose. With a calm intensity, Meagan pushes her clients beyond their perceived limits to become the best they can be.

Barb Newman - Personal Trainer
Barbara currently holds six national and international fitness certifications as well as a Bachelor of Education Degree. She has spent over twenty years working int he field and has a wealth of experience. Barbara is retired Chairperson of the Manitoba Fitness Council Standards Committee and served on the Boards of Directors for four years. She is a member in numerous fitness organizations, which keeps her abreast of the latest fitness related research. Most of Barb's clients are interested in general fitness, weight management or sport specific improvement. Barbara has three grown children and enjoys a variety of outdoor activity.

Noah Krol - Personal Trainer
"Movement is life. It is how we are meant to function. The way we heal, the ways we process are all tied into movement. Gross or subtle, we embody it."
Noah is a 2200hr graduate of Foothills College of Massage Therapy. Prior to his Massage training he received a Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition through Harcourt Higher Learning. It was the combination of these two disciplines that lead him into structural bodyworks, such as Myofascial Reliease and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. He then attained a Personal Training Specialist certificate through Can-Fit Pro, which only proved to fuel his thirst for knowledge. He went onto complete a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training and Personal Development program through Trinity Yoga and teaches group and private classes throughout Winnipeg.

Carrie Simpson - Fit Boxing Instructor
Carrie enjoys working with clients who have ambitious weight loss or conditioning goals. She specializes in creating progressive and challenging circuit training programs for all fitness levels. Her common sense approach to teaching includes setting regular and attainable fitness goals and making small gradual lifestyle changes. Her passion is Muay Thai Boxing and is both a competitive athlete and trainer in the sport. In addition to her commitment to boxing, Carrie is also a competitive squash player.
