General Skating

General Skate times are set aside for the enjoyment of members. There are no sticks or pucks allowed on the ice at these times and children under the age of 7 must be supervised by an adult. Please check the skating schedule  for General Skate Times.

Please note:  Members are welcome to come out and enjoy a skate any time there are no programs or rentals scheduled. Please check the skating schedule for available times. All times are subject to change or cancellation.






About Our Staff

Carmina Bellisario - Facilities Coordinator
When not working you can find her on the soccer field, tennis court, badminton court and most recently has taken up cross-country skiing, sponge hockey and ball hockey.

Laurie Reade
Laurie is an NCCP Level 3 Certified Coach with 27 years of experience. She has trained skaters from beginner through Senior to National Competitions. Laurie is a Skate Canada Level 1Course Conductor. She teaches children and adults from the recreational level all the way to competitive. Several of Laurie's former students have won National medals, skated on the Junior National Team and the Canada Games Team. She has taken skaters to the last 5 Western Canadian Championships and the last 2 Canadian Championships. Laurie has a degree in Social Work from the University of Manitoba and currently works for the Provincial Government.

Debbie Synkiw
Debbie is an NCCP Level 2 Certified Coach with 25 years of Professional Coaching experience. She enjoys coaching recreational and competitive skaters from toddlers to mature adults. Debbie has a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Manitoba.

Sarah Low-Ying
Sarah was a junior competitive skater at the Divisional level and is a quadruple gold test skater. She is now a NCCP Level 2 Professional Coach with over 10 years of experience coaching skaters of all ages both at the Star skate and Sectional level. She has also coached various individuals from the preliminary through the gold test level. Sarah offers private, learn to skate and semi-private lessons as well as teaching (power) skating skills.

Sarah now works full-time at the National Research Council, Institute for Bio-diagnostics where the spectroscopy group is currently developing new medical tools using light as a diagnostic probe of disease and health.
